It Becomes the Time of Harvest

Note: This post was written on October 1, 2025. I’m backdating it here on the blog so it appears sequentially as the demarcation between when I was producing business content, and my new content on technology, the future of mankind, and what it all means.

For 30 years I’ve been building in technology, law, and business. Started six companies. A few of them even worked.

In all that time, the longest break I took from being truly on was two weeks.

I’ve built things that pay dividends without me needing to manage them day-to-day. So I’m doing what I probably should’ve done years ago: pausing the decades-long push for “what’s next.”

It becomes time to harvest before sunset.

Time for family, for me, to think and do without the urgency of a market-driven timeline.

I will miss the work, but maybe because it’s all I know. I’ll find out.

If you want to stay connected I won’t be on social media much, but I will keep writing in my newsletter where I’ll tie together the past few decades with the next few, and share what I’m tinkering with now.

P.S. – if you want to read why I changed from decades of “I’ll never retire” to unplugging, it may cause you to think about what you want. You can find it here: AI Gives Us Immortality – at the End of the World.
